If you’re in the US or UK, there’s a Goodreads ARC giveaway going on right here.
If you’re in Canada, there’s another Goodreads ARC giveaway from S&S Canada going on over here.
And if you leave a comment down below (between now and Friday), recommending a new or newish novel you’ve loved, I’ll randomly pull a couple of names for a signed White Horse ARC.
Update: Wow, it’s Friday already?
*Does some randomizer magic*
Valerie, Bettielee and Samuel, step right up! Shoot me an email at alexadamsbooks at gmail dot com with your snail mail addresses and I’ll send you each a signed White Horse ARC.
(I can’t count, I know; this isn’t news to my parents or my former math teachers.)
Thank you so much, everyone, for entering. I now have a shiny, new pile of books to add to my to-read list! As a reminder, those Goodreads giveaways are still happening, so run on over and take a look-see.
A new book, are you kidding me? There is one shop in my city that sells English language books. It’s a little secondhand book exchange and the stock is dire. So the last bestest newish book I have read is ‘Angel’ by Katie Price.
It wasn’t as bad a read as you would expect, so she clearly didn’t write it herself, hehehe.
By the way, have i mentioned that your book is being released on my birthday?
oh my gawd. I can’t think of a new book I’ve read… going back, almost everything in my list is ancient. The only thing new I’ve read is Don’t Bite the Messenger by Regan Summers and Banshee charmer by Tiffany Allee, and they are both novellas. I’m rockin’ it 19th century, yo!
I luvs you.
Holy hell, Sarah, I’d die! If you’re ever looking for something you can’t find, just shoot me a message. I’m always happy to send book-filled care packages to friends in need.
Also, I totally knew my book was coming out on your birthday. I laughed when they shifted the date. Should be an auspicious day.
Bettielee, I luvs you back. Thanks for sharing!
Conqueror, by Conn Iggulden. I’m disappointed he’s not writing a sequel, as he left the tale of Kublai Khan only half told.
That’s about the only new book i’ve read recently. My to-read list is about a bookshelf long, though, and i think there are a couple other newish books on it.
Wow, that sounds interesting. Is it non-fiction or non-fiction wrapped in fiction?
Historical fiction. Few liberties taken, but overall fairly accurate, if my (admittedly light) research is anything to go by
It’s a follow on from a trilogy he did on Genghis Khan, which was a good read, too.
I’ll have to check it out–thanks!
Hm. It’s not really new, but I read “Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament” recently, and loved it. Big surprise, eh?
Newish?
A Reapers Tale by Adam Slade. I couldn’t put it down
I almost never say that
Hmm, I’ve never known you to like anything with zombies. Ever.
Ah, I already have that one!
Hey Alex!
ATM I’m reading a book called Araluen by Judy Nunn. I have read two other books of hers. Her writing style usually has a plot that describes events that occur within a family or several families over a few generations. She particularly likes writing about immigrants and how they arrive in Australia and the struggles they may have and how the families of these immigrants change, their past and the losses and successes along the way. Araluen just focuses on one family , two sons that come out to Adelaide from Europe. They start off learning how to make wine. One brother stays and continues making wine and the other goes to Sydney to expand the business and due his oats. It’s all about the family business and then all these illegitimate children start being born. I’m at the point now where its in the 1980s and the family business has now become a wine producing empire , grandads an old man and its starting to get really juicy cause you don’t know who the rightful heir is going to be ……..
Oooh, that sounds good and meaty! I’ve been looking for something saga-ish to dig my teeth into. Thank you! *HUG*
A recent fave of mine is Saving June by Hannah Harrington – loved it.
I keep hearing good things about this book. Thanks for sharing!
I recently finished Angel Town by Lilith Saintcrow. A good ending to a raw series. I cannot wait to get my hands on White Horse.
Thank you!
Lilith always delivers the grit. She’s great!
Hello Alex, I loved your covers so much and was intrigued to learn more so here I am. I read two books a month but haven’t read a new book for a while. I do not live in the UK or the US. All I’m doing is saying hello and to wish you well.
Thank you so much! Don’t be a stranger; I’ll be giving more things away soon.
My new favorite (newish) novel is John Lennon and the Mercy Street Cafe. It was truly beautiful and fun to read. Can’t WAIT to read White Horse. The premise sounds so compelling. Best of luck with the book–and your–success!
Amy! It’s so great to see you over here! Thank you so much for the kind words–and for the book rec! *HUG*
Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones …also…Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart. I know I only get one entry, but both books deserved mentioning. Now…I will commence with finger crossing.
Valerie, I’d been wondering about the Shteyngart book! I’m definitely going to take a closer look. Thank you!
PS: The finger-crossing worked!
whoooo hoooo!
I haz a book! Thank you!
me too. *dances* Thanks, Alex!
You’re both totally welcome!
